The Seventh Day Adventist Church Mission in Bougainville has celebrated its 100th Anniversary, which started on the 18th of December 2024 and will finish on the 31st of December 2024.
The two weeks long programs are a worship celebration program, that saw more that 6000 seventh day Adventist church members from Autonomous Region of Bougainville (AROB), New Guinea Islands, and even from the neighbouring Islands across the Solomon Islands turned up to mark this historic event in the history of Seventh Day Adventist church in AROB.
The 100 years Anniversary program is happening at Rumba, in Kieta under the theme, “Gospel Flame”.
On Thursday, December 26, Prime Minister (PM) James Marape travelled to Bougainville to take part in the historic celebration and to also officiate the closing of the program.
During the Prime Minister official address to the people of Bougainville and the Seventh day Adventist church, he highlighted the important work of missions that helps to heal people after the Crisis and will continue to do so.
Marape further encouraged youth to be faithful in church and to become good citizens, adding that youth must also go back to their village and be useful with the resources God has already provided.
Marape on behalf of the government has given K1million to support the Bougainville SDA mission.
