France’s support for the PNG vaccination campaign continues.
As mentioned previously, thanks to the Airbus Foundation, helicopters are used in support of Chimbu and Jiwaka Provincial Health Authorities (PHA), to transport vaccination teams to remote Health Centres.
Wednesday 19th May, an AirbusH145 helicopter of Pacific Helicopters, located in Goroka, made several flights from Kundiawa to transport and drop-off teams in Haia, Negabo, Keremui and Bomai villages.
All Pacific Helicopters staff were fully mobilized for this unprecedented mission for the company.
Piloted by Jason “Mango” Manderson, the aircraft had also on board the Chimbu’s Public Health Authority’s Director Jerry Kubu and the French Ambassador Guillaume Lemoine.
The welcome in the villages was extremely warm.
Once dropped-off, the teams are tasked to deliver awareness and advocacy, prior to proceed with the vaccination. The teams will be picked up next week after they complete their mission.
A new day of flights will take place this Saturday from Mount-Hagen. Ambassador Lemoine will be taking part in it.
