The Lutheran Revival Church in the Erap Local Level Government (LLG) of the Morobe Province, received timely support from Nawaeb District Development Authority (DDA) to strengthen their church activities.
The donation of roofing iron sheets will go towards the completion of their church located at Ward seven of Wain-Erap LLG.
Member for Nawaeb, Theo Pelgen, stated that his government will continue to support the work of all churches in the district.
“The spiritual needs of the people are very important, and the church provides an avenue for peace and reconciliation in the community.”
“This small support is given to strengthen the church foundations and unite the congregation to maintain their active church activities.”
The DDA Women’s Representative, Mrs. Rebecca Michael whilst presenting the materials to the church leaders at Arasasa Village, said that Nawaeb DDA sees the importance of women’s participation in church activities and decided to step into assist the church.
“Mothers play an integral part in ensuring their household is disciplined through the Word of God and this assistance will strengthen their spiritual faith.”
A small cash support was presented to the church to sustain its annual conference that will be held in September.
A spokesperson from the church said this is the first of its kind support by any MP to the establishment and said they will for the first time remove the “kunai” roofing and put iron roofs.
