Round One (1) of the emNAU NiuKick Junior League started off over the weekend at Murray Barracks AFL Field in Port Moresby.
“The turnout for round one (1) of the games was very good,” said Junior League Manager Mr. David Topeni.
Despite the competition starting a few minutes late on Saturday due to the teams traveling time to the venue, the games for the U13 and U15 boys and girls all went well.
Mr. Topeni added that it was very encouraging to see parents turn up to support their children during Saturday’s games.
“It is good to see parents playing an active role in their children’s sporting activities and we want to encourage more of this,” Mr Topeni said.
The emNAU NiuKick competition is supposed to have a total of ten (10) primary schools participating this year, however only nine (9) schools took part over the weekend.
The Manager of the Junior League in the country, Mr. Topeni, expressed his gratitude and appreciation to the major sponsor of the competition, Paradise Foods Limited, through their emNAU biscuit brand, for their continued support throughout the competition.
