Solomon Islands hit band Dezine, a band made up of brothers and close friends who rose to fame in 2009 are currently working on two new tracks; Magic and Lesu Maim which will be released for their fans very soon.
The Dezine band is well known across the Pacific and have toured Papua New Guinea, Australia, Marshall Islands, Guam, Indonesia and Vanuatu to host concerts.
The band was started by a group of kids namely Urban Rhyme, Ezikeel, JahBoy, Jaro Local, Mi Santana and Sean Rii.
“When we were little, our uncle Jacko used to force us to sing and make music and so in 2006, I joined a local talent competition called ‘Solo Icon’ however I did not win,” said Sean Rii.
Sean Rii said it was from there that they found their path in the music industry and started taking it seriously.
On behalf of the Dezine band, Sean Rii said their mother, sister and father played a huge role in their success and where their number 1 fans.
“Unfortunately, when we had our tour in PNG in 2015, we lost both our father and sister but we know that they are looking down on us today with pride because without them, we wouldn’t be where we are today,” said Sean Rii.
Since the global pandemic caused by COVID19, the band had to postpone their tour to Papua New Guinea.
Sean Rii said this was very upsetting not only to the band but to those fans who purchased tickets prior to the show.
“We as performers love when our music reaches people and the fact that we had to postpone our show was a disappointment for us,” said Sean Rii.
Sean Rii, on behalf of the band added that the main challenge they faced was being far away from home for too long.
“In Solomon Islands, our family is waiting for us and being away from them for this period of time is heartbreaking and we cannot wait to return to our family,” said the Solomon Isands artist.
Dezine band has promised that as soon as this pandemic is over, they will be touring more countries and will be making more music.
“As far as music collaborations go, we have a few tracks with those artists whom we have collaborated with in the past but the tracks with these artists are not yet ready to be released”, said Sean Rii.
The band is looking forward to future concerts and more new music coming up and are appreciative of the show of love and support from their fans so far.
