DELTA VARIANT BEHAVES DIFFERENTLY FROM COVID-19
The new Delta Variant strain is behaving differently from the original COVID-19 virus and spreads faster among an unvaccinated population. Deputy Controller of the National COVID-19 Control Centre, Dr Daoni Esorom made this statement while warning citizens about the impact the virus has on unvaccinated individuals. He said the symptoms of COVID-19 includes fever, dry cough, joint pains, loss of taste and smell, flu-like symptoms and headache, however the Delta Variant does not show some of the symptoms mentioned. ā€œDelta Variant is behaving differently, patients now are coming forward with fever, headache and flu like symptoms but there is no dry cough or loss of taste and smell.ā€ ā€œThe evidence is showing us that it spreads very fast in very crowded environment and among an unvaccinated population.ā€ Dr Daonie said the COVID-19 Health and Safety protocols they have put out from the beginning are still relevant today and the public should strictly follow those protocols while opting for vaccination.
