Patients at Angau General Hospital in Lae city received a boost of comfort and cheer after Lae Biscuit Company donated 500 Christmas gift bags during the festive season.
Patients and guardians said the donation brought hope to families spending Christmas in the hospital, many of them far from home.
Paediatric patient Dalcy Damariko from East Sepik and Milne Bay said the gift meant a lot to her and the children in care.
“Christmas is a time to give, and receiving something like this is a big blessing for us patients,” she said.
Similar feelings were shared by Agatha Ismael, a guardian in the cancer ward, and her husband Gesom Ismael from Menyama District, who said the kindness helped ease the pain of being away from home at Christmas.
Lae Biscuit Company said the donation reflects its commitment to supporting communities and health services. Brand and Events Coordinator Glenda Waikulai said the Chow family and Lae Biscuit Company wished Angau patients a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year 2026.
Angau General Hospital Acting Hospital Manager Russo Perone thanked Lae Biscuit Company, saying the support made a real difference to patients spending the festive season in care.
