Head Coach John Ovia expressed confidence in the squad’s preparation, noting their training focus over the past two months.
“We’ve worked hard on match awareness and game scenarios. The boys have responded well under Assad and Sese’s leadership,” said Ovia. “This tour will test our skills, character, and team spirit but I believe this group is ready.”
Selection Chairman Hudson Leka described the selection process as very competitive.
“We considered fitness, form, and team balance. Each of these players earned their spot and will represent the country with pride,” he said.
The team departs on Monday, August 11, and will arrive in Jersey after a two-day journey. They will then travel to Guernsey on August 14 for warm-up matches, including a T20 and two ODIs, before returning to Jersey to open the tournament on August 20.
Cricket PNG extended its best wishes to the Barramundis for a successful international campaign.
