50 students from Paradise College who completed basic first aid training this year graduated in a small ceremony at school this week and received certificates of completion and merchandise bags from the Sir Brian Bell Foundation. Ms Isau from Paradise College thanked St John Ambulance Papua New Guinea and the Sir Brian Bell Foundation for running the program for their year 9 students. The National Rugby League today announced new partnerships with Surf Life Saving in Queensland and New South Wales to bring Touch Footy to the beach this summer. In conjunction with Touch Football Australia, a new series of beach touch footy events will be held at Surf Life Saving Surf Sports carnivals throughout December, kicking off on the sands of Mooloolaba, Maroubra, Coolangatta and The Entrance. A number of people are feared to have been killed after a mudslide triggered by heavy rains swept away homes on the island of Ischia, near Naples.
