Papua New Guinea has recorded two new COVID-19 deaths this week, increasing the total number of deaths to 107. The deaths were reported in Morobe and in the National Capital District. Morobe reported the death of a 53-year-old female whilst NCD recorded the death of a 57-year-old female. Police have arrested and detained a 29 year old male for the murder of his two sons aged 5 and 3 at Port Moresby’s Morata One settlement on Tuesday April 27. A 29 year old man from East Sepik province is now in Police custody after he murdered his two children, within their rented accommodation at Morata number one in Port Moresby at around 5pm on Tuesday afternoon. The two boys aged five and two years of age were repeatedly stabbed by their father, who also tried to take his own life but was restrained and held by members of the community.
