The Special Parliamentary Committee on Gender Based Violence (GBV) conducted the first-of-its-kind public hearing on the issue at the APEC Haus. Papua New Guinea has recorded 35 new COVID-19 cases this week, increasing the total number of cases to 15,222. The cases were reported in six provinces with Morobe reporting the highest of 16 cases. New Ireland reported seven cases, National Capital District and Southern Highlands reported four cases each, Western Highlands three and Hela a single case. Of the 35 cases recorded, 28 were males and seven were females. Their ages range between 16 to 64 years. At the time of testing, 19 cases were showing symptoms of COVID-19. BSP Financial Group Limited Chairman Sir Kostas Constantinou OBE, announced that the Australian Securities Exchange (ASX) had approved BSP’s application for listing and that BSP officially joined the ASX on Tuesday 25 May 2021. Papua New Guinea has recorded two new COVID-19 deaths on Saturday May 22, increasing the total number of deaths to 156. The deaths, a male and a female between the ages of 48 and 59 were reported in West New Britain. Also in the last 24 hours, 54 cases have been reported with Manus reporting the highest of 24 cases. The National Capital District reported 12 cases, Morobe six, Western Highlands five, Simbu two and Eastern Highlands, West Sepik, Central, Jiwaka and Hela reported a single case each.
