Papua New Guinea’s sailing duo Teariki Numa and Rose-Lee Numa hit the water, on Friday, for the final day of the preliminary Laser racing event. Four students attending Kopkop College Campus in Kavieng, have each won the New Ireland Governor’s Essay Competition, set out annually amongst schools in the maritime province. Heli Solutions yesterday responded to a medical evacuation in Kol village at the Jimi District of Jiwaka Province, after a mother had been bleeding for over 12 hours from a retained placenta. The young mother was assisted by villagers who made her a stretcher out of bamboos and torn up flour bags and brought her to wait for the medevac. The 3 day New Ireland Rugby 9’s Provincial Tournament hosted in Namatanai town ended on a high note on Sunday 25th July. A total of 12 teams took part in the tournament.
