Former Secretary for Defence Trevor Meauri was arrested and charged on Monday this week with one count of abuse of office by the National Fraud and Anti-Corruption Directorate. Detectives from NFACD arrested and charged Mr. Meauri after he was alleged to have written to L&A Construction Limited to give him estimated costing to re-construct the run down Guard House at Murray Barracks. The Commissioner of Police and Controller of the PNG COVID-19 National Pandemic Response, David Manning, has called on citizens to come forward and get the COVID-19 vaccine. Mr Manning called upon citizens not to be complacent against COVID-19 even as no new COVID-19 cases were recorded on Saturday 31 July.
