K58 million from the government’s tuition fee subsidy funds has been remitted to the bank accounts of Flexibles, Open and Distance Education (FODE), Secondary, National High and Vocational schools. The Minister for Education Jimmy Uguro confirmed that out of the K486.3 million allocated for this year, a total of K 248.5 million has been released so far. Transparency International PNG (TIPNG) brought its Anti-Corruption Help  Desk (AnCoHD) to Kokopo last week as part of its annual outreach program. The Anti-Corruption Help Desk is a community service provided by TIPNG that provides an avenue for people to report corruption. The AnCoHD assists people by providing legal assistance and seeking pathways for redress. The Anti-Corruption Help Desk statistics of complaints brings to light the hotspots of corruption, informs and empowers people of their rights and responsibilities and strengthens anti-corruption mechanisms within agencies. Three more students from the University of Papua New Guinea will have successfully completed their internship program with Port Moresby Nature Park this week. Chilla Sine, Philemon Varihombui and Dave Laki are all Final Year students in Tourism & Hospitality at UPNG who undertook an eight-week internship program as part of their practical assessment. TikTok was the world’s most downloaded app in 2020 as it took the top spot from Facebook Messenger, according to digital analytics company App Annie. A 4 year – old girl fell of a tree and a sharp object punctured her stomach resulting in all her intestines falling out. Seneika Kinsly fell around 5am on Saturday morning and was carried to Sengapi Health centre around noon from their village.  She received first aid treatment by the health workers at Sengapi Health Centre where she awaited Medivac by Heli Solutions.
