The Port Moresby General Hospital (PMGH) has assured grieving families and relatives of the late 14 year old teenager who died after an eye operation in the hospital’s operating theatre that an independent investigating committee will get to the bottom of his untimely death. There is a general agreement in the Oceania Customs Organisation members of the importance of the Pacific Harmonized Commodity Description and Coding System (PACHS) 2022, the internationally recognized upgraded system of classifying goods promulgated by the World Customs Organisation (WCO), which comes into effect on January 1, 2022. The Papua New Guinea Defence Force is sending a team to Mt Hagen following the fatal accident on Sunday evening in Mt Hagen. The team which leaves on Wednesday includes two medical personnel, a lawyer and other members of the Joint Operations Branch who will assist Police to establish the cause of accident. A soldier was killed in the fatal car accident at Keltiga outside Mt Hagen between 16:30 and 17:00. St John Ambulance today opened its new Ambulance Station at Baruni with the aim to serve a population of around 30, 000 people in the surrounding Motu Koita villages as well as the whole Moresby North West electorate.
