One of Papua New Guinea’s commercial banks has come to the aid of the National Control Centre for COVID-19 by donating laptops. In response to a request from NCC, the Kina Bank agreed to donate 10 laptops, two of which were presented to NCC this morning by the bank’s Chief Financial Officer Chetan Chopra and Executive General Banking Lesilie Taviri. The two senior officers said the remaining eight laptops will be given next week. Around 100,000 rainbow trout fingerlings were distributed throughout the Enga Province by Wabag MP and Minister for Fisheries & Marine Resource, Dr Lino Tom, and his Fisheries team this week. The distribution of these fingerlings is part of a pilot project that began in July this year and it is aimed to provide an alternate source of protein and improve food security in remote areas.
