The Juha landowners of petroleum development license (PDL) 9 in Hela province want the National Government and Exxon Mobil to start constructing a gas pipeline project to bring it into production of liquefied natural gas (LNG). Former NRL superstar Jarryd Hayne has had his sexual assault conviction overturned and is set to face a third trial. The Court of Criminal Appeal on Monday quashed his conviction after he last year applied to the state’s highest court. The New Zealand government is being urged to prioritise sending more vaccine supplies to Pacific nations, in order to stem the spread of the Covid Omicron variant. Over 2000 people have tested positive to Covid-19 in Kiribati and two people have died. Low vaccination rates have led to hundreds of deaths in Papua New Guinea and 50 deaths in the Solomon Islands.
