The Rabaul District Administration officially commissioned and opened the ‘Trinity Centre of Excellence’; a District Education Resource Centre aimed at enhancing educational opportunities for students. Approved in 2022 by the District Procurement Committee, the project was awarded to contractor Bela Investment Limited under the District Services Improvement Program (DSIP) Funds and was successfully completed this year. The Papua New Guinea Olympic Committee (PNGOC) and IBS University (IBSU) have strengthened their shared commitment to community development through an initiative that bridges education and sports. Last week saw the two organizations celebrate this collaboration by announcing the winners of the 2024 IBSU Scholarships, drawn from indemnity forms submitted by participants of the Trukai Fun Run which was held in July. 21-year-old May Torowi Hasola of the Autonomous Region of Bougainville was crowned the 2024 Miss Bird of Paradise last night at the APEC Haus in Port Moresby city.
