Morobe Governor Luther Wenge has announced a plan to build a new University in Morobe Province. He has announced plans to build the University at Wawin outside 40 Mile where the National Department of Livestock Farm is situated. Community leaders in Wain Erap Local Level Government area in Nawaeb District, Morobe are concerned on the rising trade and consumption of marijuana in the area. Ward six Councilors Mandina Bum said most of the dealers and consumers were school leavers. The annual 59th Morobe Show goers expressed gratitude over the manner this year’s event was organised. The Science Technology Engineering and Mathematics (STEM) class streamlined in the National School of Excellence throughout the country is part of the education restructure system. This was a statement from the Department of Higher Education, Science, Research and Technology’s first secretary Mr. Andrew Angorobe. Wawin National School of Excellence  in Morobe Province graduated 152 grade 12 students last Friday. Some parts in Morobe Province are still facing landslides and rocks rolling down the mountains during windy times. This has been happening after the recent 7.6 magnitude earthquake that hit Morobe. In Wain Erap Local Level Government area in Nawaeb District, a man aged 52 from Lemang village got covered by landslides on Saturday morning. Morobe Provincial Government’s  Head of Human Resource Management has announced it will fund public  servants to attend short Small Medium Enterprises (SME) and Financial Literacy courses before they retire. The Lae City Authority (LCA) has started conducting random checks on Liquor outlets, gaming and entertainment centres, night clubs and food bars in order to see if they are complying with health and safety regulations. These random checks are a done in a partnership between LCA, department of labour, ICCC, IRC, police, IPA and immigration.
