Police in Morobe province have withdrawn three of its officers who have been serving logging companies for some years. Provincial Police Commander (PPC) Chief Superintendent Jacob Singura exercised orders issued by Police Commissioner David Manning to withdraw officers serving logging camps throughout the country to withdraw officers serving in logging camps in the area. Primary schools in Lae city, Morobe province require suitable teachers to occupy teaching positions to better deliver the curriculum to the students. Alarming  reports of fights resulting in deaths in Morobe Province is a major concern for the wider community and stakeholders and is a wake up call for authorities to intervene and look into possible ways to address. Fighting and deaths have been reported since 2022 after the National General Election and is reportedly ongoing and is rising in different electorates. Police alone cannot address these issues. Two infants were among 17 passengers who went missing along the Fly river in the middle Fly district, Western Province. The kids are one a month old and the other three weeks old.
