He encouraged the participants to take it as an opportunity, as it will support their future.

VIOLENCE HAS NO PLACE IN OUR COMMUNITIES| MARUM
East New Britain Governor, Michael Marum expressed his disappointment towards the recent incident of a school fight among students during their inter-school sports carnival in the city of Kokopo, as well as acknowledging police efforts in de-escalating the situation.
He stated that what should have been a time of unity, sportsmanship, and celebration of youth talent has been stained by disorderly actions.
âSuch acts of violence have no place in our schools or communities. They undermine the values of respect, discipline, and pride that we, as a province, have worked hard to uphold.â
âIt is disheartening to witness young individuals, who symbolize the future of East New Britain, engaging in actions that jeopardize public safety and tarnish the reputation of their schools and our province as a whole.â
He then commended the Royal Papua New Guinea Constabulary (RPNGC) officers in Kokopo for their immediate response.
"Their presence and timely intervention were crucial in preventing further harm and restoring order."
Governor Marum also called on parents to take initiative in guiding their children to become responsible adults.
"The foundation of good citizenship starts with strong parental involvement and moral guidance.
He is tasking the provinceâs Education Board to evaluate the incident and take concrete stepsâthrough policies, awareness, and stronger school partnershipsâto ensure that such offences do not reoccur.
âThe safety and well-being of our students must remain a top priority.â
He urged school administrations, parents, and community leaders to collaborate effectively in tackling the underlying issues of these incidents.
âWe need to guarantee that our sporting events are secure and significant for every participant and spectator.â
âI encourage our youth to make prudent decisions, show respect for each other, and take pride in representing their schools and communities with honour.â

A MINECRAFT MOVIE: A MOVIE REVIEW BY PNGHAUSBUNG
Title: A Minecraft Movie (2025)
Director: Jared Hess
Rating: PG
Genre(s): Adventure, Fantasy, Comedy
Run Time: 1hr 41mins
Star(s): Jason Momoa ⢠Jack Black ⢠Emma Myers ⢠Jennifer Coolidge ⢠Sebastian Eugene Hansen ⢠Danielle Brooks
MINECRAFT â VISUALLY APPEALING, SHALLOW NARRATIVE
Four misfits who are Garrett âThe Garbage Manâ Garrison (Jason Momoa), Natalie (Emma Myers), Henry (Sebastian Eugene Hansen), and Dawn (Danielle Brooks), get sucked by a mysterious portal into Overworld, an unusual, animated, cubic wonderland that thrives on creativity and imagination.
In order to get back home, they must navigate the terrain while accomplishing a quest guided by a crafter named Steve (Jack Black).
Jason Momoa in a kidâs movie brings out his goofy side, which is an interesting watch. Emma Myers delivers a decent performance of an older sibling trying to take on parental roles. Sebastian Eugene Hansen fits into the role of a social misfit well. Jack Black on the other hand has played multiple similar roles before. He needs to diversify.
Director Jared Hess blends CGI animation and live action into A Minecraft Movie, creating a nerd heaven for both Minecraft players and movie buffs into a single story. The cinematography is basic but works well. The film was shot in Auckland, New Zealand.
The inclusion of Steve as a live-action character instead of an animated player brings authenticity and connection for Minecraft users.
A Minecraft Movie is a film that stays true to the source material while also exercising creativity that adds to the production rather than diminish or degrade the source.
One of the most forgettable elements of the film is the piglin villain, Malgosha. Although Rachael House is a good voice actress, Malgosha wasnât the best character for her. Perhaps more development into her actions in the film wouldâve salvaged her character.
The film lacks meaningful character development. For instance, conflict resolution between siblings Natalie and Henry was a missed opportunity to delve deeper into the issues of kids who are social outcasts because of their hobbies and interests.
It may appeal to kids visually but leaves those seeking a deeper narrative unsatisfied. It also serves as a reminder that translating interactive experiences into film can be challenging and requires more than just visual appeal but a great narrative as well.
Certain fighting scenes are not suitable for a really young audience.
Rating 7/10.
