Police Commissioner and Controller of the PNG COVID-19 National Pandemic Response David Manning this week removed the requirement to test for COVID-19 for domestic air travel within the country.
Mr Manning issued Measure No. 13 – Amendment Measure to No 3 Domestic Travel Measure which revoked Paragraph 2.b and 2.c of Measure No. 3 on Domestic Travel. The amendment takes effect today, Thursday May 27, 2021.
Mr Manning said that the effect of this measure is to remove the requirement that persons were required to have a COVID-19 test and return a negative result the day before flying domestically.
He said whilst this requirement has been removed COVID-19 still remains a threat and all citizens must continue to practice the “Niupla Pasin” and stop the virus from spreading.
