“After 45 years Tslili-tsili Primary School at Wampar Local Level Government of Huon Gulf District gets support from Government.”
Trsili-Tsili Primary School in the Wampar Local Level Government of Huon Gulf District of Morobe Province today witnessed a significant ground breaking ceremony for a new 4 in 1 Classroom.
Morobe Governor Hon Ginson Saonu was present himself to brace the occasion that will see the completion of the new 4 in 1 classroom to boost the education standards of the area.
The school according to locals themselves was set up by the community through various fundraisers over the 40 plus years of its existence. The school is located in the Lower Watut area where there is less presence of Government services and support over many years.
Governor Saonu said it was the priority of his Government to ensure that quality basic education is accessible in Morobe Province especially the rural and remote areas of the province.
The Classroom to be built has its timber and materials to be moved to the village by this week and construction work is focused to start next week. Completion work according to Contractor Mr Robert Mairob of Marirobs Construction will be completed in 3 to 4 months’ time.
Governor Saonu urged the locals to respect the construction workers to ensure the classroom is built swiftly and said that blessings of the people have bear fruit today because they themselves had built the school with their own efforts.
Local Councilor of Ward 25 of Wampar LLG, Tony Giowen praised the Leadership of Governor Saonu emphasizing that for the first time a Governor is now working closely with the leaders of the three tiers of Government and the simple people to fulfil development agendas.
“Thank you for the first time a Governor has supported us with Ward Development Grants of K5,000 last year and another K5,000 this year 2021.”
“I will utilize the K5,000 to upgrade the local Aid Post which has been overlooked by the Government for 8 years,” he said.
Local Leader Mr Ben Elisha whilst thanking Governor Saonu for the timely intervention, praised the timeless efforts of the parents and community for their strong support both financially and resources to sustain the school for many years.
