The Remington Group recently conducted a Training of Trainers (ToT) course at its Head Office in Port Moresby, which saw three senior members of their technical training team, together with another senior technician based in Lae (participating via video conferencing platform), achieve certification as skilled Trainers in their specific technical fields.
The Training of Trainers (ToT) is a programme designed to equip professionals with essential skills enabling them to identify training needs and to develop instructional design tools for effective training delivery. This programme is a fundamental requirement for professionals aspiring to be instructors, trainers, workplace coaches and leaders in whatever fields they choose to master.
Chief Executive Officer for the Remington Group, Mr. Peter Goodwin said:
“The Remington Group is the only approved dealer for Konica Minolta and Fujifilm in Papua New Guinea. We also sell and service other world-leading brands like brother, HP and Canon. So, it makes sense that we train and maintain the absolute best technicians to service our customers’ fleets.
Training Papua New Guineans is one of the most important tasks that we as an organization have. This latest initiative is just another example of our determination for Remington to lead the way in providing our people with great careers and to bring Papua New Guineans along with us for the journey.
We are very excited to have achieved this milestone in our Group’s history, and we look forward to investing more time, effort and money in training our Papua New Guinean Staff. “
The four technicians – Andrew Schmidt (Remington Technology Technical Training & Support Manager), Frederick Tolison (Remington Technology Service Manager), Micah Zale (FX Business Centre Senior Service Technician) and Nelson Nombri (Remington Technology Service Field and Technician Supervisor) underwent a 3-week intensive training course that has seen them certified as Instructors and Trainers for Remington Technology and FX Business Centre.
Elite Training and Consultancy (ETC) Principal Consultant, Mr. James Tai said:
“It is important for any businesses, especially at this time when our economy has been hit hard by the surge in COVID, to partner to deliver services effectively and we are so grateful to partner with Remington Group to deliver this training for four up and coming Technical Trainers.
This Training of Trainer (ToT) course is an exciting way forward for Remington Group, specifically in developing their senior Technical Trainers. The ToT program is an in-house program delivered by Elite Training & Consultancy in partnership with Remington Group to help build their Technical Trainer’s skills in conducting end-to-end training programs. The skills development areas or competencies learnt will surely enable them to apply in work arrangement.”
The Remington Group ToT program will enhance the knowledge and skills of our staff, which will not only benefit the company but will also benefit the individuals involved.
