In celebration of Papua New Guinea’s 50th Independence Anniversary, NCSL Savings & Loan Society has made a heartfelt donation to Friends of POM Gen, reaffirming its commitment to community care and social responsibility.
This milestone anniversary is not only a time to celebrate the nation’s progress but also a moment to reflect on values that unite communities’ compassion, resilience, and the spirit of giving back. NCSL’s donation is a tribute to the mothers and children who represent the heart and future of the nation.
NCSL Savings & Loan General Manager Operations & ICT, Mr. Shane Kennedy said, “Mothers are the foundation of every family, and children are the promise of tomorrow. This donation aims to bring comfort and support to those receiving care at Port Moresby General Hospital, especially in the maternity and children’s wards.”
The donation includes a wide range of essential items such as baby care products including wipes, diapers, infant formulas, powders, and soap with hygiene items like sanitary pads, bath soap, and toilet rolls.
Additional include nutritional support including milk, Milo, juice boxes, biscuits, noodles, and cereal; comfort items such as blankets and pillows; and food staples including tinned food and other non-perishables.
These items were carefully selected to meet the immediate needs of patients and families, offering both practical support and a message of care.
As a member-owned society, NCSL is deeply rooted in the principle of people helping people. This initiative reflects an ongoing commitment to uplifting lives, particularly those in vulnerable situations.
As PNG marks 50 years of Independence, NCSL remains steadfast in its contribution to a stronger, healthier nation.
The Society extended its thanks to Friends of POM Gen for their tireless work and for allowing NCSL to be part of this meaningful cause.
