Member for Huon Gulf and Minister for Community Development, Youths and Religion, Jason Peter, has conveyed a heartfelt message to his people and the country in adherence of Repentance Day.
Minister Peter urged citizens to embrace the true spirit of the day by reflecting on their lives, seeking forgiveness, and fostering unity across communities.
“Today, we are reminded of the power of humility, forgiveness, and unity. Repentance is not merely about words but about sincere reflection and a commitment to live in harmony with one another and with God.”
Additionally, he encouraged Papua New Guineans to make peace with one another, heal past disunions, and build a society rooted in peace and integrity.
“May this day inspire us to turn away from actions that divide us and embrace values that bring healing, restoration, and hope to our communities.”
The Minister called on all citizens to take part in prayer, reflection, and acts of kindness to strengthen the nation’s moral and spiritual foundation.
“Happy Repentance Day, Papua New Guinea.”
