Member (MP) for Hiri-Koiari, Keith Iduhu is pleased that schools in his district in Central province are recipients of ICT Learning Centers under the National Information and Communication Technology Authority (NICTA) Universal Access Service (USA) Connectivity Project.
“As the member for Hiri-Koiari District I am very grateful to the Minister for ICT Timothy Masiu and the agencies under him because, not only one (1) school in our district but three (3) schools are the recipients of the National Information and Communication Technology Authority Universal Access Service Connectivity Project, giving ICT accessibility and services to our children in the Hiri-Koiari District,” Mr. Iduhu said at the opening of the ICT Learning Center for Boera Primary School this week.
Mr. Iduhu Thanked ICT Minister Timothy Masiu and the agencies under him for selecting the three schools in the Hiri-Koiari District to be recipients of this very important service.
“Because out of 10,000 schools and institutions in the country, you and your team have elected and exercise your discretion in favor of Hiri-Koiari and have blessed us not with one or two but three useful facilities such as this ICT Learning Center in our district.
My good ICT Minister, the decision you made shows the resilience and effort that you place on the task as a steward of the ICT sector under the Government.
Minister, you carry a very heavy burden and the decision you made will impact the young people of Boera village.
As an education enabler, the ICT facility in Boera will provide us a steady foundation in our education journey and I believe that our children who are the benefactors of this facility will shine bright and be well prepared for what lays ahead of them and that is the problem of PNG,” he said.
Mr. Iduhu said that the students receiving this facility are the future leaders of PNG that the district and government are jointly burdened to provide for.
“Through this ICT Learning Center, you can receive so much knowledge and information to empower you to become whatever it is you aspire to be or want to be. You students can be anything you want with this facility at your hands.
Our Boera Primary school is the third recipient of the ICT Learning Center under the ICT Minister and the facility included 20 computers, high speed internet access, and a range of digital learning resources, designed not only to support academic excellence but also to cultivate critical thinking, creativity, and collaboration among students.
Additionally, the district also contributed 50 new classroom desks to Boera Primary School to further support the educational infrastructure of the school,” Mr. Iduhu added.
