B14 is the name of this local group which consists of four males residing in the suburb of Gerehu.
Not new to the PNG Music Industry, they are planning on a come-back and have some pretty good tracks set to release for their fans here in Port Moresby and around Papua New Guinea.
‘Brothers In Arms’ or ‘1314’ is lead by Nigel Nagual aka Gundor, who is the lead vocalist and the Music Producer for their studio called ChainLoose Music.
The other three member’s are Brendan Nagual aka Adi Brox, Martin Wagambie aka Martz Bobo and Noel Charles aka Noxy Bone.
When asked why they chose B14 as their studio and stage name, lead vocalist, Nigel said that the reason was they all grew up together in Gerehu and they have so many brothers and out of those brothers, only four of them have the potential in singing.
“We usually stand up for each other when one of us is in trouble so Brother’s In Arms or B14 best describe our group.”
One of their tracks “Yu Yet Skelim”which was released in 2019 and recorded under their label ‘ChainLoose music’ was a come-back hit song for Tarvin Toune which also was one of the songs to hear during that year.
“We also helped Ragga Siai with his song Birua after he went through a downfall and we are now working with Yung Dee for some new tracks”, added Nigel.
Lead vocalist Nigel said that the group stated awhile back in their school days but got introduced into the Papua New Guinea music scene in 2016.
The quartet has released a couple of singles which hit the airwaves and some of those tracks where lucky enough to be voted into the PNG Chart and also on the Pacific Islands Chart.
“Just to name a few of our tracks that were voted by listeners were Mangi Gerehu, Island Love ft. Robby T, Boi Mahn ft. Sprigga Mek, Hagen Queen ft. Masalai Crew and a few more.”
B14 have been doing gigs around Port Moresby at places like The Cosmopolitan, Sports Inn, Club Illusion and other places in Port Moresby.
Nigel further added that in 2018, they travelled with other PNG Artists like Eldiz Mune, Masalai Crew and Tasik Yard to Oro province to perform some of their music gigs.
B14 have also collaborated with a few PNG Music Artist like One Raised, Sprigga Mek, Robby T, Tasik Yard, Masalai Crrew, Stonky of Stagajah, Five Star, Lil 2Jay, Jaggah,Eldiz Mune among other PNG Artists.
“We recorded a single for Ragga Siai, MTS Crew and one of our recent recordings was with the Late B Rad & Jay Roze but unfortunately before his passing, the track was never completed.
Nigel said that there were so many challenges that they faced over the years musically.
“We haven’t had a smooth sail on their road simply because the Music Industry in PNG is very challenging and only a few can make ends meet but the rest of us we have sleepless nights doing we love to do and make a little out of it.”
Now, the boys are re-grouping and after theCOVID19 Pandemic, they are planning to accomplish some of their music goals.
