The SP PNG Hunters will take on the Tweed Head Seagulls this Saturday 5th April at the Cbus Super Stadium in Gold Coast Brisbane, Australia, a match that Coach Paul Aiton has confidence that the boys will pull off another victory.
Coach Aiton in an interview with PNG HAUSBUNG today said their training system is one that gives hard working and committed players an opportunity to play, and with that, he believes the team is ready for the upcoming match.
“The aim is to bring back their resilient spirit following a strong win against the Brisbane Tigers last week (30th March),” he said.
Coach Aiton also emphasized the importance of the adaptability within the team, particularly in response to injuries. He stressed that although Finley Glare and Elijah Roltinga will be sidelined for 3-6 weeks due to sustaining ACL and PCL injury respectively from last week’s Match, he has confidence that things will go their way this weekend.
However, Aiton made it clear that the team will view these challenges as opportunities for other players to prove their merit. This philosophy fosters a competitive yet supportive environment, ensuring that every player is prepared when called upon.
Moreover, the coach emphasized that fair driven system drives selection decisions. Players who train hard and demonstrate commitment will be rewarded with game time, as seen in the cases of Trevor and Clint, both of whom earned their spots through consistent effort. Aiton’s approach ensures that the Hunters remain competitive regardless of personnel changes.
The Hunters remain focused on executing their game plan and maintaining high performance levels, regardless of circumstances. This mentality is crucial as they face tough opponents in their pursuit of excellence.
