Healthcare workers in Papua New Guinea are going above and beyond in their duties, even in the most difficult situations.
In Morobe province, some workers are carrying esky coolers up mountain paths to deliver antenatal care to expectant mothers, showing their dedication to those in need.
Health Minister Elias Kapavore acknowledged the hard work and perseverance of these workers, stating, “Some staff are carrying eskies up and down mountains to provide antenatal care for mothers. We must not give up—Papua New Guinea is our country, and together, we will build a better future.”
This dedication is closely tied to the government’s overall healthcare goals. Kapavore highlighted that the Marape-Rosso government is fully committed to enhancing healthcare services for all citizens.
“The government is here to support you in every way possible,” he affirmed.
The government has invested heavily in healthcare, with plans for new medical facilities, more healthcare workers, and better working conditions. These efforts demonstrate the government’s ongoing commitment to improving the health system and supporting those working on the frontlines.
With the combined efforts of dedicated healthcare workers and strong government support, there is optimism that the healthcare system will continue to improve, ensuring better care for all Papua New Guineans.
