The Acting Police Commissioner Donald Yamasombi with good heart visited and encouraged the Morata Neighbourhood Watch (MNW) to exercise their duty to foster peace and harmony with the Christmas spirit in the National Capital District (NCD), Port Moresby.
The event was attended by Acting Commissioner Donald Yamasombi, Waigani Police Station Commander Bill Wareka, Chief Inspector David Terry, Active police personnel and local community members of Morata and MNW Head Jerremiah Pera at the Morata Roundabout, Waigani.
Yamasombi emphasized the significance of embracing the spirit of Christmas through their primary duty of keeping the peace, which will centre on unity, love, and goodwill.
Addressing the youth, he encouraged their active participation in the NCD Youth Neighbourhood Watch Program, to improve law and order in the city.
Furthermore, he stressed that the festive season as a time for joy and togetherness, but also a time that challenges law and order.

The event marked an important step towards ensuring a safe and peaceful festive season as Yamasombi, met with the Neighbourhood Watch Head Mr. Jerremiah Pera, extending his thanks to the fine work carried out within the Morata community.
The event saw a strong turnout of community members, including local leaders and residents, who expressed their commitment to the program.
The MNW Head Mr. Pera pledged to collaborate with law enforcement to address issues such as petty crime and vandalism, thereby contributing to a safer environment.
