Police Mobile Squad 04 (MS 04) recently seized Cannabis Plantation with over 1,500 fully grown plants on Sunday 24th November 2024 in Rusit Village East New Britain Province (ENB).
The Commissioner for Police David Manning announced and confirmed that the MS 04 conducted the raid confiscating exactly 1,900 fully grown crop after a six hour walk to the isolated location inland Baining District.
Commissioner Manning acknowledged and identified the amount of drug cultivated as a commercial level, commending the MS 04 for their tireless effort in accessing the isolated illegal drug site and seizing the crop before polluting the community.
“The operation to target and seize the illegal drugs was initiated through collected intelligence, analyzed and acted upon.”
Commissioner Manning stressed that identified suspects are subject to ongoing police investigations and will be arrested before taken to court.
Meanwhile, Manning emphasized that MS 04 was deployed to ENB to assist with the increase of Law and Orders incidents in the province.
Moreover, Manning stated the Royal Papua New Guinea Constabulary is stamping out the rise in certain criminal activities from unemployed youths and bringing them to justice. As well as Drug cases and rise break-ins and street theft.
“MS 04 will be present to secure safety for local resident and businesses, and also for the tourism Industry which is essential for our economy,” said Manning.
Furthermore, Maning highlighted Several Cruise ship that dock in Rabaul bring about passengers that support local economy and SME’s, and RPNGC will continue to support a safe environment to maintain economic investments and local communities alongside the Provincial Government.
Commissioner Manning reassured public safety stressing that, “With the continuing targeted deployment of Police Mobile Squads, and the development of reserve Units that directly support the Tourism industry, communities will see and feel an increased highly visible police presence in this region.”
