After slaying the Mendi Muruks with a 10-8 win over the weekend and securing their spot in the top 4 of the DigicelExxon Mobil tournament, the Lae Snax Tigers Club acknowledged and thank the PNG National Rugby League Competition Management for offering to accommodate the team in Port Moresby.
The PNGRFL team offered the Lae Snax Tigers team to stay on in Port Moresby for the duration of the playoffs, so the team will not have to brave the harsh conditions during the bad weather to get back to Port Moresby next week.
Though the team appreciates the PNGNRL for the positive response and support; as a team they have decided to return to Lae.
This decision is based on the team’s consideration and support for the 5 team members, who are students at UNITECH.
Coach Noel Zeming states, “As a club we always support and prioritize players education and welfare and will support our boys and stick together as a team.”
They apologize to PNGRFL for any inconvenience caused but feel that it is very important they stick together as a team and brave the weather again this coming week to return and fight for the final spot once again.
The club has paid all school fees for its players and continues to support their education and the Rugby league growth equally.
