Madang province has seen a significant drop in crime rates thanks to the collaborative efforts from community, law enforcement, the justice sector, and the provincial government.
During a recent police parade held last Friday, Madang Provincial Police Commander, Acting Superintendent Robert Baim, highlighted the contributions of stakeholders, community leaders, police, and the provincial government in assisting to reduce criminal activities.
“Our officers’ hard work and dedication have directly contributed to this decline in crime.”
“Their courage and commitment have made a profound impact on our community’s safety.”
Baim praised the provincial government for providing essential resources and leadership.
He also commended Provincial Administrator Frank Lau for his assistance in maintaining law and order.
Community leaders, youths, women, and children received recognition for their efforts in upholding the law and preserving peace.
Baim noted that community policing units have been actively fostering safer neighbourhoods and building trust at the grassroots level.
As the festive season approaches, Baim urged the community to continue the strong partnership and collaboration established earlier this year.
He emphasized that respect and unity are the cornerstones of a harmonious society.
“Madang, often referred to as the ‘pearl of the Pacific,’ is committed to reclaiming its legacy and building a brighter future together.”
