Kundiawa authorities have launched “Operation Klinim Kundiawa Taun” with a specific focus on reestablishing normalcy in the aftermath of the recent disaster.
This strategic endeavour aims to promote a sense of community ownership and responsibility in addition to clearing out the tangible garbage.
It tackles urgent issues related to cleanliness and public safety, emphasizing the need for prompt action to address problems including littering, annoyances to the public, and safety dangers.
“Operation Klinim Kundiawa Taun” represents a proactive approach to maintaining civic order and safety.
In order to stop undesirable actions, law enforcement agencies have increased their presence in key areas, patrolling regularly, and enforcing rules.
Foot patrols by the police, which have already started, will continue in order to maintain visibility and deterrence.
Initiatives for community involvement also seek to inform the local population about the value of maintaining a safe and clean environment.
The temporary curfew, which went into effect on April 10 and is set to expire on April 30, is a crucial part of the operation.
The purpose of this curfew is to regulate public activities during specified hours, so decreasing the probability of incidents and guaranteeing the safety of both locals and guests.
Companies are told to close by 5 PM, and people are asked to get home before the curfew starts.
Workers deemed necessary who might need to work past curfew hours will be granted an exception.
The flow in the consumption of inexpensive liquors sold by alcohol traders and homebrewed alcohol has drawn attention said from Provincial Police Commander (PPC) Epenes Nili.
These products have been linked to public disturbances and impaired judgment among the youth.
To address this, PPC Nili has prepared a report to present to the alcohol licensing board, advocating for measures to prohibit the sale of these cheap alcohol products.
“We must work together to bring Kundiawa back and make Kundiawa town a safe town for everyone.”
Through collaborative efforts between law enforcement agencies and community members, “Operation Klinim Kundiawa Taun” aims to create a welcoming and secure environment for all residents of Kundiawa.
