Air Niugini have announced the cancellation of all domestic flights today due to a fuel restriction imposed by Puma Energy.
This has caused disappointment and frustrations for many passengers who arrived as early as 5am to the airport only to find out their flights had been cancelled after the prolonged delays.
Many of these passengers are in fact travelling back from their holidays and have been anxiously waiting for an update from Air Niugini which eventually came at 1pm this afternoon.
Air Niugini announced at the Jacksons Airport domestic terminal that all domestic flights for the remainder of today have been cancelled and passengers have been asked to return tomorrow morning.
An ANG officer on duty also advised passengers to rebook their tickets in order to secure their space. It is uncertain at this time when flights will resume with no assurance given as it is beyond ANG’s control.
