Madang Royals rugby league club was privileged to be supported by Vodafone PNG with supplies of sporting gears and merchandise as the team takes part in the Mayor’s pre-season nine’s cup.
Head coach of the Royals rugby league team, Bobby Razi, thanks Vodafone PNG for its assistance in presenting jerseys and rugby balls to use in this pre-season as they prepare for the Madang rugby league proper season.
Coach Razi said due to covid-19 Rugby league was stopped for almost four years leaving many to lose interest in the game however, was grateful for the initiative of the Town Mayor to revive the spirit of playing rugby league back in Madang.
“Sports helps to instill leadership and discipline in players to become good citizens of this nation.”
Meanwhile, Madang Vodafone territory executive officer, Tim Simon, shared he same sentiment, saying that Vodafone is privileged to support sports as I see that sports instills discipline in players that will help them in their everyday life decisions.
Simon added that will help youths to keep them away from doing illegal activities such as, drugs and homebrew and help them become better individuals. “Vodafone is looking forward to assist sporting activities in Madang as part of the company’s’ community service.”
