Schools in Morobe Province will come to a halt tomorrow following the arrival of the casket of the Late Deputy Prime Minister, Sam Basil, in Lae, Morobe Province.
This was the announcement made by the Morobe Education Advisor, Mr. Keith Taugui.
Mr Taugui said schools from the two districts Lae and Huon Gulf will be taking part in the program for the welcoming of the casket of the late DPM Basil.
“All elementary and secondary schools from these two districts will take part in welcoming the casket of the late DPM at Nadzab Airport where they will all be prepared and lined up before the casket arrives tomorrow morning.”
He added that the students are now preparing for tomorrow’s arrival where each student will be holding flowers to escort the casket as the convoy proceeds tomorrow.
Taugui also said that this was a sad moment for the people of Morobe, and as part of the students and staff paying their respect, all schools within Morobe Province will shut down classes for two days.
“There will be no classes tomorrow and Thursday however schools will resume on Friday,” Mr Taugui said.
