Papua New Guinea has recorded 69 new COVID-19 cases in the last 24 hours ending 12 midday on Friday June 4, increasing the total number of cases to 16,327.
The cases were reported in eight provinces with Manus reporting the highest of 19 cases. Milne Bay reported 18 cases, New Ireland 15 cases, Madang eight cases, Morobe four, East New Britain and National Capital District two cases each and West Sepik a single case.
Of the 69 cases reported, 44 were males whilst 25 were females. Their ages range from two to 85 years. A total of 48 cases were showing symptoms of COVID-19 at the time of testing.
The country’s COVID-19 cases now stands at 16,327 with 164 known deaths. A total of 15,641 recoveries have been recorded.
To date, a total of 117,373 people have been tested for COVID-19.
All 22 provinces including the Autonomous Region of Bougainville (AROB) have reported cases. The distribution of the cases are as follows:

Globally, the total confirmed cases of COVID-19 has reached 172,407,356 including 489,890 new cases reported in the last 24 hours. The death toll stands at 3,705,990 including 10,952 deaths reported in the last 24 hours.
