Papua New Guinea has recorded 6 new COVID-19 cases on the weekend increasing the country’s total number of cases to 17,806.
On Saturday August 07, four new cases of COVID-19 were reported while another 2 more cases reported on Sunday 08.
The cases were reported in the National Capital District and Morobe respectively.
Of the four cases reported on Saturday, three were males whilst one was a female. Their ages range between 36 to 60 years old. On Sunday, the two cases reported were a male and a female. They were aged 36 and 60 years old.
The country’s COVID-19 cases now stands at 17,806 with 192 known deaths. The total cumulative recoveries stands at 17,478. To date, a total of 149,493 people have tested for COVID-19.
All 22 provinces including the Autonomous Region of Bougainville (AROB) have reported cases.
Globally, the total confirmed cases of COVID-19 has reached 202,926,168 including 563,596 new cases reported in the last 24 hours. The death toll stands at 4,298,298 including 8,557 deaths reported in the last 24 hours.
