Papua New Guinea has recorded 57 new COVID-19 cases on Friday 30 July, increasing the total number of cases to 17,774.
The cases were reported in five provinces. The National Capital District reported the highest of 28 cases followed by Madang with 21 cases.
West Sepik reported four cases, Morobe three cases whilst East New Britain reported a single case.
Of the 57 cases, 47 were males whilst 10 were females. Their ages range between 52 and 59 years. Twelve out of the 57 cases were experiencing symptoms of COVID-19 at the time of testing.
The country’s COVID-19 cases now stands at 17, 774 with 192 known deaths. The total cumulative recoveries is 17,384.
To date, a total of 147,433 people have tested for COVID-19. All 22 provinces including the Autonomous Region of Bougainville (AROB) have reported cases.
Globally, the total confirmed cases of COVID-19 has reached 197,293,173 including 643,723 new cases reported in the last 24 hours. The death toll stands at 4,212,789 including 9,983 deaths reported in the last 24 hours.
