Morobe Provincial Government urged high schools to complete their infrastructure project before the writs are issued for the 2022 National General Elections.
Provincial Administrator for Social Sector Services Mr. Robin Bazzenu said schools who have received the infrastructure development grants are urged to make it their business by completing all their projects and submit reports before the national general election commences.
He said total funding of K12 Million was disbursed to 45 schools in 2021.
Bazzenu said the Provincial Government expected schools to complete 95 percent of the infrastructure developments.
He said said the funding was allocated to 29 secondary and high schools, nine technical and vocational education centres, two FODE centres, one national high school and three privately run schools.
Bazzenu said the funding was prioritized by governor Ginson Saonu to shift school building infrastructures and it was first of its kind the fund was disbursed to respective schools to manage.
