1, 118 BABIES BORN IN DECEMBER AT POMGEN| 38 NYE BABIES

For the month of December 2024, a total of 1,118 deliveries were recorded at the Port Moresby General Hospital (PMGH) Labour Ward.

This is as per a media statement from PMGH today.

In welcoming the New Year, PMGH Labour Ward delivered a total of 38 babies on New Year’s Eve with a baby boy recorded to have been clocked in the heaviest weighing 4.5kg.

As of midday today, New Year babies stood at fourteen babies delivered with more expected to be delivered by the end of the first day of the year, 2025.

All births were recorded to be live births and of the fourteen babies, the baby with the heaviest weight was 4.6kg.

The total number of babies delivered on New Year’s Day will be provided tomorrow.
